Gizmo has been watching way too many circus shows on PBS or something.  Lately she has been doing acrobatics on the curtain rods, balancing very well and not using the curtains for a ladder.  I think Felix is actually being the catapault in getting her up there with the greatest of ease!

She has the sofa for her trampoline and safety net, and she walks from curtain rod to curtain rod, with each foot in front of the other, with such grace and aplomb.

Circus shows are off limits to her now, though.  I am afraid to think what she'd do if she tried to jump through loops of fire to copy the tigers she sees doing it!

Gizmo is in trouble again.  She's snagging people's toes.  She used to snag mine until out of reflext I ended up putting my foot over her paw.  Since then, I've been toe snagged free.

But she's doing it to everyone else.  She looks at you much like the kitten in this picture, and although it isn't a little calico, the idea is that Gizmo plays you to believing she really didn't "mean to."  You put her down, though, and she's at it again.

This little cat is smart.  She's into electronics and anything electronic is her best friend.  I believe she uses the keyboard more than the mouse with all the "knowledge" she gains in snagging toes.  She has it down to an art form!

That one is Alister on the left in the green and Watanuki on the right in the brown. The first two we got.

This is Alister on top of the coconut, which he loves.

Haru climbing on a piece of wood.

Haru and Alister.

Here's our monster, Marik hiding behind the coconut.

And Marik from a front view.

Watanuki passed away about two months after we got him. We got one named Ichigo after that. He lived only four days and sadly, I have no pictures of him. Haru passes away just last night after losing two legs. Alister is healthy and happy. Marik is our newest. We picked him up on Saturday morning because we thought Haru had died then. When we returned home Haru was moving around and okay. But he only lasted another day. You have to keep at least two crabs because they can't live alone. So.....to make sure Alister would be okay we've had no choice but to get a new one each time. Ichigo, Watanuki and Haru are all burried in my backyard and have a piece of my heart.

R.I.P. Crabby & Snail

This morning, my boyfriend found our fish tank to be really murkey (yesterday it was clear) and checked it out. Crabby wasn't moving and our snail seemed to be...there. That's it.

We found out our snail passed away and Crabby followed him in fishy heaven.

My son-in-law was on the couch watching television and Willy was on the cushion about in the middle.  P. started petting him, and Willy was enjoying it very much.  When P. stopped, Willy lifted his one catcher mitt and started rubbing on P.'s shoulder.  When P. started petting Willy once more, of course, Willy would stretch and enjoy it more.

This went on for several minutes.  It was like a well rehearsed dance.  I thought it was amusing but also very intelligent to see Willy actually interacting as if he were a "people."

While this was going on, Felix, P's cat, was watching closely, but didn't attack or  come over to interfere.  It was like he was taking lessons or enjoying seeing his owner having fun getting his back scratched.

Yep, there is peace in the Fluffalot Kingdom.

♥ Jailbait.

Jailbait is a really strange turtle. I bought her at a flea market (before we found out it's illegal to buy baby turtles) and she's so tiny!! But extremely weird.

My boyfriend owns two other turtles (Angulus and Big T) and both are nearly 7 years old and both a 50 times the size of Jailbait. We placed an aquarium divider to seperate Jailbait and the other two to keep them from accidently killing her.

Well, this is where the strangeness comes in.

Jailbait will CLIMB the divider to be with the two much older boys on the other side. She'll go, climb and jump. No lie. She'll also try to fit between the divider where the plastic strip meets the glass to make it to the other side. The other two look at her and go about their bussiness. -_-

I think she just wants to be jailbait.

We're just worried that Angulus might kill her on accident because his claws are the size of her neck in width and we don't want a dead turtle on our hands. But she's a lovely addition to the turtle tank and a complete mess when she wants to be.

Weather Forecasting Felines

All animals can tell us what the weather will turn out to be, if we are close enough to our pets and the "communication" is good.

I knew the weather was going to change because of Willy, my longhaired feline, and TC, my shorthaired feline.  TC will put her legs under her stomach and Willy will lay down pretty much the same way, but in a more content "mode" because he loves colder weather.  He is more mobile and more vocal, something he never does when weather is warmer.  TC will hover near anything warm; computers, heaters, and under coats even before the weather actually starts due to her arthritis.

Pets do communicate.  We just have to learn the language.

Okay, you know about the "littliest thief", the "littliest cat," and now you have to be told about the Trapeze Artist.  Yep, the same Super Gizmo!

I had washed my hair and found the little feline hanging on the drapes, which are Irish Lace and aren't very sturdy.  Although those can be replaced, I was more worried about the little cat because if she fell, the rod would come down on her, and I think it could have hurt her.  I did something I don't like to do, but had to do it....and all this time I thought it had been TC or Seca who had done the damage to the curtain rod in the dining room!  Super Gizmo has been found out!

I told her "no" and lectured her, (like I'm sure she understands.  Then again, she's Super Gizmo and I'm sure she has high intellect.  Clark should know better than to let his pets run wild, you know.)  She ran from me, of course, but she's safe and sound, and she's not hurt.  She gets into the tiniest spots and knocks down heavy objects, which means she is a Super Gizmo for one so tiny!

Of course, Seca and TC looked at me, and I swear they were laughing.  (I did see a smirk on Seca.)  TC just looked on, ears twitching, so I know she had to be laughing up a big furrball!  Willy was in the window sill, taking his usual nap.  It's too early for his proclaimations yet.

Felix stayed in the kitchen and played it safe.

Gizmo, the Trapeze Artist is flying high these days!

I'm trying not to panic. I really am. My crab has been out of his shell for two days. My cousin sends me a link to this site. It said to put my crab in a cup or jar alone with a shell. So I did. He stopped moving! x.x I mean, usualy he's at least moving his antanae. But nothing. I waited and waited and he finaly moved a little.

I ended up moving him back to the tank. I mean, I couldn't think of anything else. He's moving again. But not much. And I'm trying SO HARD not to panic. x.x But I just dunno what to do. He doesn't want to leave his tank. And he doesn't want to put on a shell. And....I swear I'm going to end up crying if I can't figure out some way to help him. I'm close to tears right now over it.

Crying isn't going to help. But I dunno what I can do. Other than putting the crab in a small area with the shell, it doesn't say anything else that you can do. And I'm not moving him anymore. I probaly shocked the poor thing!

If anyone can give me any advice, any at all...I just really feel at a loss. I should have left him alone. He was perfectly happy and Alister wasn't bothering him. But I just wanted to help.

Am I worrying too much? Is it stupid that I'm almost crying over a pet crab?

The Tail Swishing

TC was in my lap, snoozing comfortably, claws relaxed, and Gizmo got on top of the chair TC usually uses when I take her off my lap.  Gizmo was content, and TC let her use the chair until Gizmo started swishing her tail, bopping TC in the nose.  TC was patient, letting the nose bopping go on for about five times.

She lost patience and bopped Gizmo, no claws I noticed, on Gizmo's behind!  Gizmo looked back at me, then saw TC in my lap looking up at her, Gizmo swished her tail one more time, and moved next to my coffee cup, looking at me as if I was going to discipline TC.

I told the little munchkin that nose swatting is not allowed, Gizmo layed down, and I have peace on my table again.

What is amazing, though, is that TC did not hiss, did not use claws, and she did not mind the little cat on her chair top.
